Beyond the Brushes: Meet Jen

Hi, I'm Jen, the sooty face behind the bristles!
Most days you'll find me with a brush in my hand, ensuring the chimneys of York and North Yorkshire are safe and clean , as the face of Little Miss Sweep.
But when the soot settles and the sweep van is parked up, my world is defined by my family, friends and a love of the Great Outdoors
First and foremost I am a mum of two teenage boys, one of whom is almost an adult, which makes me feel old! I am immensely proud of the young men they are becoming. Raising two teenagers often requires patience, humour and ALOT of snacks! To balance out the testosterone we have two beloved cats- the real bosses of the household- who are always ready for a quiet cuddle after a long day sweeping. The best part of my job has to be meeting all of your pets too.
My true 'reset' button is found outdoors. I am a passionate long distance trail runner and hiker, nothing beats that feeling of trading chimney soot for the fresh air of the Yorkshire Countryside and beyond. I have run two 100+ mile races and lot's of distances leading to them. I've had the privilege of completing some of our most beautiful National Trails including-
● The Cleveland Way- 110 miles of heather moorland and dramatic coastline
● The Wolds Way- a 80 mile journey through the peaceful, rolling chalk hills of the Yorkshire Wolds
My next big challenge is looming. I'm currently in the thick of training for my biggest challenge yet, Alfred Wainwright's Coast to Coast route. This iconic route traverses the entire width of the country, from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay at approx 192 miles. Over three National Parks, The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dale's and The Yorkshire Moors. I might need a few days off to recover! Wish me luck
Thank you so much for supporting my small business!
